DFDS has once again been awarded Europe's Leading Ferry Operator at the World Travel Awards 2017.
Held in St. Petersburg in Russia, the awards acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across the entire tourism industry. The award was voted for by both the general public and travel industry professionals from 57 European countries.
DFDS beat fellow nominees Brittany Ferries, Color Line, P&O Ferries and Stena Line to take the award. DFDS has won the award every year since 2012.
Pete Akerman, DFDS marketing director, said:
"We’re delighted to have once again won the approval of our guests and travel industry partners to claim the titles as Europe’s Leading Ferry Operator for a record sixth consecutive time. I’d like to thank all of our employees, who have worked so hard to provide excellent customer service to our guests and make travelling by ferry with DFDS an enjoyable and relaxing experience. From those who are front-of-house on board, to those working behind the scenes, it’s been a real team effort to retain this title."
Established in 1993, this year's gala ceremony was held in the Marble Hall in St. Petersburg. Next year's European event will be held in Greece.
DFDS provide ferry crossings between Dover & Calais / Dunkerque, Newhaven & Dieppe and operate on both the Baltic & North Seas. Many congratulations to DFDS from the team at Freightlink.
